The basic form of billiards is the free game. The game is played with three balls, two white and one red. Each player has a white ball as his cue ball. To make it easier for the audience to follow the party, a white, a yellow and a red ball is often used today. The goal with the cue ball is to hit the red ball and the opponent's ball in one shot. The order doesn't matter. If this succeeds, one speaks of a collision. You can crash all over the billiard table with the exception of the corner fields. If the two balls to be hit are in a corner field, a collision may be made. Then the corner field must be left again. Only in the free game is that the starting position has to be built up again when the ball is pressed. The player who has successfully completed a collision is allowed to continue playing.
