Cadre

In all cadre disciplines, billiards are divided into fields with fine chalk lines. These fields are called cadre and form the restricted areas. With cadre 47/2 and 47/1, the playing area is divided into nine fields. Six of the fields are square, three fields are rectangular. In small tournament billiards, the discipline is called 35/2. The number in front of the slash shows the distance between the lines and the boards, the number behind it shows the pile-ups allowed in a field. With the large cadre, the 71/2, the playing area is divided into six fields, two rectangles and four squares. On the small tournament billiards is the designation 52/2. In the case of a cadre with two kicks, the player does not have the right to perform two carom positions one after the other in the same cadre field during the course of a shot without at least the opposing ball or the red ball being pushed out of the second kicks.
